Контакторы вакуумные высоковольтные серии КВТ с электромагнитным приводом, открытого исполнения, с естественным воздушным охлаждением предназначены для использования в комплектных распределительных устройствах, а также замены маломасляных и элегазовых выключателей, а также для оперативной коммутации электрических цепей в сетях трехфазного переменного тока с частотой 50-60Гц.

Принцип действия
   Включение коммутируемых цепей происходит с помощью управляющего электромагнита, на обмотки которого подается полное напряжение 110 либо 220 В. Электромагнит работает на полную мощность только в момент коммутации на "включить", мощность электромагнита сокращается балластными резисторами, подключаемыми к обмотке. Это в свою очередь сокращает нагрузку на обмотку электромагнита и продлевает срок его службы. В положение "выключено" устройство переходит при обесточенном магните и при снижении напряжения питания на обмотке управляющего электромагнита до 3% от номинального.

   Учитываются также возможные колебания напряжения в цепи электромагнита, и гарантируется удержание коммутируемой цепи во включенном состоянии при падении напряжения питания до шестидесяти пяти процентов от номинального.
В пределах допустимого интервала (68 В при 110 В и 156 В при 220 В).
